I gained a few days on either end - by starting closer to New Years - and by having my pallets shipped (tomorrow, the 12th) directly to the show. But I've needed every spare minute. And had to navigate other time-wasting challenges.Â
Â
It takes a
lot of focus and motivation to figure out what to bring, and have it actually fit into just 3 pallets that are roughly 3 feet by 4 feet cubes.Â
Â
I've never looked so closely at the Hourly weather predictions - to choose the warmest times - we've gone from icy 20 degree weather to the merciful 40's. I've built my days around avoiding rain and snow - it's been a wet season, so far - depositing a few boxes as I'm able, each day into these
vessels.Â
Â
I got a crack in one of my pallet covers (due to ice) that funnels rainwater right inside. So I had to get plastic covers to waterproof them. And I (sadly) - due to limited space - had to leave some items behind that I really wanted to share.Â
Â
Last week I selected which carvings are coming with me, and I'm still uncertain as to how many back stock items I'll be able
to bring. Bracelets were boxed up before the Holiday break. It's. not like I haven't been working on this for months!
Â
Because my Gallery space is similar to my Tucson booth configuration (12' wide by 20' deep: P-7 in the Showcase Tent at the Tucson Gem Show on 22nd St.) - I was able to somewhat reproduce what at least the display piece part of my setup will look like - featured at the start of this
video.Â
