I was smitten by this piece - just as was its buyer - who bought it from me at a wholesale show I was vending at. The base (or majority of the "crown") is Quartz pseudomorph (replacement) over Anhydrite (Angelite) crystal, which is beautiful and celestial in its own right. But the sprinkling of little "Herkimer Diamonds" on the top is what takes it over the top. We call them Herkimers because - although they're not from Herkimer - they look just like them: a stocky, double terminated, ultra clear Quartz, with a compact "belt" or band of a "body" between the two points. I've been getting known for stocking outstanding specimens, and where people have an eye (and budget) for them, they definitely sell.
